On 24th July 2018, during Morning Prayer, our 5 Candidates received their Aspirants’ Medal from the hands of our Provincial Sr. Rita Dora Thomas. The Provincial also initiated 8 Aspirants into Postulancy during the Eucharistic Celebration. The Eucharist was presided over by Fr. Xavier Devdas SDB and our Parish Priest Fr. Peter Rodrigues. During the homily Fr. Xavier exhorted the candidates to be passionately in love with Jesus and to keep alive the fervor that they have today throughout their life. The theme of the day was “I am the Vine, you are the Branches.”
The celebration was preceded by 3 days retreat animated by Sr. Magdalene Sequeira, our Vice provincial. The candidates were deeply impressed by the retreat as they discovered “God’s Love and God’s Promises” in a deeper way. We pray that this experience may help them to understand their vocation in a clearer way.
Since the Provincial was leaving, soon after breakfast, the Candidates put up a short cultural programme of songs, dances, and skit – all centered around the theme “I am the Vine, you are the Branches.” The Provincial Sr. Rita Dora found the candidates very happy and exhorted them to remain joyful always even amidst difficulties.
On 23rd July during the Goodnight, the Candidates asked the Provincial to share her vocation story. Sr. Rita Dora’s vocation story will help some to purify their motivation and the others to strengthen their motivation.
