Rejoice! Rejoice! Rejoice!
Yes! That’s what we did on 5th August 2018 as we had two special reasons to rejoice. First of all, it was the Foundation day of our Institute on which Mother Mazzarello and our First Sisters said their “YES” to Christ. And like them, over the years many Sisters of our Province also made their profession on this day. In our community, we were indeed happy to celebrate the 47th anniversary of Profession of our dear Sr. Wilma De Souza. We were also happy to have Sr. Marina Fernandes who was present with us and she was celebrating the 46th anniversary of her profession. We began our Foundation Day with a meaningful Morning Prayer. At lunch we the community gathered around the dining table and had a small celebration and joyfully sang a blessing song and expressed our loving greetings to our Sisters in different ways.
The second celebration of the day was Friendship day. We had this celebration in the evening with our oratory children. We conducted a group competition on preparing friendship bands with waste materials. Indeed our smart children very creatively prepared beautiful friendship bands. They tied these bands to each other, wishing each other a ‘HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY’. As the Oratory concluded, Sr. Monica Shera gave them the good evening message on ‘True Friendship’ and Sr. Wilma distributed sweets to them. They went home happily.
At the close of the day, during Evening Prayer, once again we thanked God for our beloved Institute and for every FMA around the world. Our evening prayer concluded with the singing of the Institute’s hymn “O QUAL SORTE”. It was indeed a memorable day for all of us.
