It was a red letter day in the history of India when the country got her freedom on August 15, 1947. People of the country celebrate this festival every year with great pomp and show.

We too at Auxilium Convent High School, Pali Hill Bandra celebrated this festival with unprecedented patriotic fervor on 15th August 2018. The chief guest for the occasion was Mrs. Daphne Carvalho, a retired teacher of our school. She hoisted the national flag in front of the school building at 7.45 am. All the students, teachers and the parents who were present saluted the National flag and then sang the National Anthem.

This followed a moment of prayer for the country.  The Cultural programme included patriotic dances, songs, speeches and a mime show depicting “Human cycle ruined by social media and crimes”. Prize distribution was also held for the various competitions held in the school. The function came to an end with the Chief Guest delivering her Independence Day speech.
