15th August 2018, was a great day for all of us here in Anmol and for all our outreach centres. The day dawned with a lot of excitement for it was the 72nd Independence Day of our country, the day on which we remember the great sacrifices done by our freedom fighters to free us from the slavery of the British rule. The children from our 8 outreach centres attended the Anmol Milan in great numbers. To make it convenient we conducted the programs in two different places – Rabale and Wadala. There were altogether 160 children who attended the programme.
Under the guidance of their teachers, the children put up short programmes consisting of a Fashion show on India’s diversity, skit, dances, patriotic and action songs. The children performed their items wita h lot of zeal and enthusiasm. The joy and happiness seen on their faces was a visible sign of the love they have towards our mother land – India.
The speeches given on the life of our freedom fighters were indeed a source of inspiration to all the listeners. A Quiz Competition was conducted to help the children increase their knowledge of the various aspects of our country. This short function was organised with the aim to enhance in our children the sense of Equality, Fraternity and the attitude of religious tolerance. We concluded the programme by distributing some gifts and snacks to the children. The day was indeed a beautiful one which enkindled the fire of patriotism in each one of us.
