AMAR # 540 Teachers’ Day at SJTC Lonavla

On 5^th September 2018, the Candidates of SJTC, Lonavla celebrated Teachers’ Day in order to thank their educators Srs. Cecilia Crasta, Assumption Gonsalves and Sunita Motheghar.  The theme for the day was “Teachers – Shepherd and Guide”.  The day began with a meaningful morning prayer centered around the Word of God from Ezekiel 47:9, 12.  

Teachers are like a river that flows and enhances the life of fish and plants; in turn, they bear fruit in plenty. So also teachers impart knowledge and wisdom to the students and in turn, the students become responsible citizens of a nation.

The candidates together prepared a good lunch which the Sisters enjoyed. In the evening there was a cultural programme of dance, a street play on the girl child and a joke which made everyone laugh heartily. They presented the Sisters with a bouquet of flowers along with a thanksgiving song. In the end, we also had a dance session wherein the Sisters too joined the candidates and danced to heart’s content. Indeed the day was a memorable one for everyone.
