AMAR # 550 Teachers' Day at Aux- Lonavla

 “You are the RAINBOW of our lives.”

“Teachers are the torch bearers of the next generation”. Teachers play a major in shaping the minds of the pupils and making them responsible citizens of tomorrow. Teachers’ Day programme is the most awaited day for the teachers as well as for the students. The excitement and preparation began in mid-August. Sr. Sheela and the two Co-ordinators Sr. Shobha and Sr. Rexela planned the day and the captains executed it meticulously.

The Teachers’ Day function was graced by Sr. Superior Sr. Josephine, Sr. Sheela, and the staff.

Before the programme began,  as the Teachers’ were having breakfast, the students were very busy in the class writing a letter about their favourite teacher. They were told by the headmistress to bring a small colourful paper and write the few lines about their teacher in the class.

   The students welcomed the teachers, with colourful favours and as they walked through the hall, students waved colourful dupattas depicting colours of the “Rainbow” which was the theme for the day. Then the whole school sang a song which was taught by their headmistress for this occasion.  The outburst of the young Auxilians was a joyous sight.

The invitation card, the theme on the backdrop all so beautifully presented. The hall was so well decorated with Saturn drapes and flowers spray. It was a very pleasant moment for the teachers, who met an enthusiastic audience as they walked through the hall.

The day buzzed with exhilaration and smiles all around. The students prepared a meaningful prayer moment which was followed by a short entertainment programme.  The students performed a skit portraying the role of a teacher as a life changer. This was done by the Std. IX and the X boarders. The little fairies, a small skit was prepared by the Std. V students. Then the “Rainbow” a beautiful skit was prepared by the students of Std. VII.  And the mesmerizing dance performed by the Std. X students left the audience enthralled.

All the performances were enjoyed by the teachers. The students felicitated their teachers with cards and with flowers. Later they were felicitated by Sr. Superior who acknowledged and appreciated the work done by them. It was a proud day for teachers to bask in love and attention which they received from the students. The teachers later assembled for a delicious lunch.
