AMAR # 549 Myriads of activities at Aux-Lonavla

Bal Chitrakala Competition (Drawing Competition)

Bal Chitrakala Drawing Competition was organized by Zilla Parishad on 13 August 2018. Nearly 526 students took active participation in the competition.

Camlin Drawing Competition

Camlin Drawing competition was organized on 9th August 2018. The entire school took an active part in the competition. Nearly 342 KG students participated in the same, 625 pupils of the primary section took part and 1110 students of the secondary section participated in the Drawing Competition.

Singing and Poem Recitation Competition

Singing and Poetry Recitation Competition was held at Lonavla Municipal Corporation office on 13th August 2018 at 10.00 a.m on the occasion of the Independence Day.

Students from private as well as government schools took part in these competitions. There were mainly two competitions in each of the categories. The judges and the Chief Guests were honoured with flowers and shawl. Before the commencement of the competition, the people present, worshipped goddess Saraswati and then the competitions were started. At the end of the competition, motivational speeches were delivered by the Chief Guests and the results were declared by the Judges. On 15th August, at 8.00 am there was a flag hoisting ceremony and also the distribution of all the prizes.

From Aux-Lonavla eight girls were selected for the competitions and from them 5 girls received awards. The entire programme was organized in an orderly manner.

Celebration of Raksha Bandhan at the Police Station

Under the guidance of the headmistress Sr. Sheela and teachers: Tr Supriya, Tr. Bharti and Tr. Madhuri along with Mrs. Shravani Kamat (parent) the Guides went to the city police station to celebrate Raksha Bandhan on 25th August.

They took handmade rakhis and some readymade too. As we went there we were excited to celebrate the festival of Raksha Bandhan with the Lonavala police. Through a speech, Ms. Bagban Faiza and Ms. Mahadik Shravani expressed their gratitude towards the police staff. Then they did the aarti, tied rakhis, and distributed sweets.

The Guides saluted the police officers to show respect towards them. They served us with biscuits and chocolates to show their love towards the Guides.

G.K. Competition

The whole school took part in the General Knowledge Competition which was held on 27th August 2018. There were ten rounds on various topics. The rounds were put up on the class whiteboards. Students answered the questions and after the competition, the answers were announced in the class and the results of the competition were later announced.

Girl Child Day

The Girl Child Day celebration was held on 6th September. The Guests of honour were Mrs. Rewati Laghate (Counsellor), Mrs. Tanushree Shukla (Principal of Jain School – Kamshet) and our headmistress Sr. Sheela Furtado. The programme began by welcoming our guests and then by lighting the lamp. Later Mrs. Rewati Laghate addressed those gathered. Her enlightened words gave the message to be confident, to learn to face problems and to share with one’s mother. Secondly, Mrs. Tanushree Shukla made us known the condition of girls through the ppt. She also shared her experiences.

The programme ended with the inspiration words of our headmistress and then the vote of thanks was proposed. It was an enriching programme.

Investiture Ceremony of USM members

An investiture ceremony of all the present USM members was held on 7th September 2018. The programme began with an introduction by the president Ms. Sejal Kothawade followed by the headmistress Sr. Sheela’s address about the values of USM and the importance of five paths for Self Transformation. Each member was given the USM scarf which had the USM logo printed on it. All the members were very happy to receive their scarf and promised their wholehearted support towards the movement.

In the afternoon Sr. Sheela conducted a meeting, in which she made those present aware of the objective of Fr. Varghese in starting this movement and how we can all be peacemakers in our society and country.

It was a very enriching day and all of us enjoyed Sr. Sheela’s inspirational talk.

 

Birthday Celebration of the headmistress Sr. Sheela

Sr. Sheela Furtado the school principal celebrated her birthday on 9th Sept. It being a Sunday the school wished her on Monday 10th September. This year it was a celebration with a difference as it was organized on a grand scale. The whole school primary and secondary assembled in the school basement hall.

Sr. Sheela was given a rousing welcome with a thunderous applause. There were smiled all around as Sr. Sheela walked up to the stage and took her seat. Then began the outpouring of love filled wishes from students and staff alike. Bouquets and cards were showered on Sr. Sheela. Glowing tributes were paid and Sisters virtues were extolled. There was a beautiful PPT presentation made especially for Sr. Sheela. Each class made cards and brought flowers for Sister. The birthday cake was cut as the birthday song was sung and candles glowed. Sr. Sheela the expressed her gratitude and appreciation saying that she was overwhelmed with the outpouring of love.   The programme ended on a joyous note.
