Ganesh Festival was celebrated with joy and fervour and most of the idols of lord Ganesh were immersed in the Monsoon Lake. The teachers first investigated the area and saw a lot of dirt, broken pieces of idols, flowers etc. were thrown. Looking at the condition of the beautiful lake the teachers decided to reach out to clean the Monsoon Lake.
On the 21st September 2018, the Auxilium Lonavla students of Std VIII C and VI C along with the class teachers marched to clean the Lake and the surroundings. Nearly 130 students participated for the cleanup drive the LMC (Lonavla Municipal Corporation) president Mrs. Surekha Jadhav and the vice president Mr. Kamat Poojary visited the place and appreciated the headmistress of Auxilium Lonavla for taking the initiative to save the environment.
The LMC dignitaries distributed biscuits and water to the students and were aware of the harm caused to the environment through the festival. They promised to convince their parents to immerse the idol at home, reuse the water for the plants.
