AMAR # 606 Diwali celebrations at Dakor

On 2nd November we the Sisters from Dakor Pushpanjali celebrated the feast of Diwali with our boarding children. We began the celebration at 6.30 pm. The boarders welcomed each Sister with a lamp which symbolizes light. Diwali is a feast of victory over evil.  Children were dressed in the attire of Ram and Sita and they explained the importance of celebrating Diwali.  The children animated the prayer service and this was followed by a cultural programme.  Sr. Hilda gave a message let us spread the light with our good deeds as you go home and spent time with your family. In the end, the Sisters and the children danced and together enjoyed a sumptuous meal.

On 3rd November 2018 we, the students of Pushpanjali-Dakor ITI celebrated the Diwali Festival. The trainees began the celebration by making a beautiful Rangoli design at the entrance of ITI centre which was followed by a cultural programme.

The programme began with a devotional prayer on light, the lighting of the lamp. The trainees from the different sections performed a dance, the Diwali message was transmitted to the students through a skit on pollution caused due to crackers during Diwali. The programme was focused on the theme “God’s light removes darkness”.  The celebration ended with an inspiring Diwali message by Sr. Hilda Braganza.
