AMAR #630 India’s 68th Constitution Day celebrated in Aux-Lonavla

The headmistress, staff and students were welcomed for the special, programme, conducted by USM members. The day began with a prayer service wherein the Scriptures of various religions were read out. The significance of the day was explained, thus giving a detailed background of India’s Constitution. The highlights of our Constitution were well presented. The words enshrined in the Preamble were recited by the whole school.

The students sang the Preamble accompanied by a video. A skit bringing out the values of our Constitution was enacted by the USM members. A student delivered speech on the commemoration of the tenth anniversary (26/11) of the Mumbai terrorist attack. A speech in Marathi was delivered by teacher Sangeeta, on the importance of constitution day.

A video song based on the misuse of our basic rights was played “MUJHE JANE KA HAQ HAY” (I have a right to know). To end the programme, the Principal Sr. Sheela Furtado addressed the school and summed up the values in our Constitution. She also expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the teachers and USM students.

The programme ended with the vote of thanks proposed by a student. With lighted candles, the programme was concluded with the song based on the Constitution” HUM LOG ( WE THE PEOPLE)”.
