AMAR # 682 “Give thanks with a Grateful heart” says Koparkhairane

Marcel Prouset says, “Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our soul blossom.”Therefore, we the community of Bl. Michael Rua, – Anmol Koparkhairane celebrated our Community Gratitude Day on 26 January 2019 to express our heartfelt gratitude to each other.

This memorable day began the previous evening with an animated vigil service by Sr. Jaya where each member of the community was appreciated for our uniqueness. The next morning Sr. Minal animated the Morning Prayer in were each one felt special, we thanked and received thanks from one another. It was indeed a beautiful and overwhelming moment to hear our good qualities from the ones whom we live with.

At 11.30am we all joined together at the feet of our Lord for the Eucharistic Celebration. Fr.James Mascarenhas, MSFS, the Parish Priest of St. Francis De Sales Church, Koparkhairane was the celebrant for the Eucharist.  Through his homily, he helped us to understand our community living better. After nourishing our souls we moved forward to nourish our bodies with the delicacies prepared by Sr.Clotilda for the occasion, Fr. James joined us for the same.

In the evening Sr. Joanna animated the adoration for us where we made a mosaic of our community…. a visual image of our togetherness.

A week-long preparation preceded this celebration with prayers and reading and understanding the theme ‘Serve the Lord in Holiness’.  The girls too kept preparing for this day with little surprises for us, as we all are a family.

So the entire family had supper together and then the girls put up a short programme to express their gratitude and we in return spent time together playing games with them and enjoying their presence.

The entire day was a day of thanksgiving and appreciation to God for being part of our community and blessing us with graces big and small and also towards each other for the love and sisterliness we share here in this community. Community Day is indeed an occasion where we experience each other’s love and thanks in a more profound manner.
