22nd January was observed as the feast day of Bl. Laura Vicuna, The teenager Salesian model of purity and heroic self-sacrifice. The students sang in the celebration with a procession of the heavenly host of angels and Bl. Laura. Superior Sr. Josephine Fernandes and Principal Sr. Sheela Furtado were welcomed into the school basement. The lamp was lit by Sr. Josephine and Sr. Sheela. Then followed a prayer service and a hymn to Bl. Laura. The students then staged a skit on the life of Laura vicuna tracing her journey from her childhood till death. Sr. Sheela in her address drew out the striking qualities of Laura Vicuna and presented her as a model to all young girls. Sr. Sheela exhorted the children to stand strong in the face of temptation. We are sure that Bl. Laura sent down blessings on school today.
