To commemorate the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, Auxilium Lonavla observed Peace Day on 30th January. The USM students conducted a prayer service on USM lines.
A student spoke about the significance of the day. The students of Std IX had earlier viewed the film “Dharm” based on the idea of true spirituality. There were group discussions on the various aspects of the film. The discussions were summed up and a presentation was made. Then, followed a short reflective skit named “If Gandhi walked in India today”. Constitutional values of equality, opportunity to educate oneself and secularism were highlighted through the skit. A minutes silence was observed to pray for World Peace. Be an instrument of peace was the theme on the backdrop. The entire school took the pledge and the day was ended with feelings of patriotism.
