AMAR # 746 Celebrating Gratitude Day the 'Bee' Way at MYC Wadala

When giving gladly and receiving gratefully is part of one’s daily routine then celebrating Gratitude Day becomes a Joyous Day. We at MYC Wadala celebrated our Community Gratitude Day on 2nd March 2019.

The theme for the celebration was ‘through holiness and wholeness.’ To live out this theme we reflected on the beatitudes and made the ‘bee’ as the symbol for the preparation and the occasion for the bees us teach us a great lesson of a community living.

For the vigil service, we reflected on the various qualities of the bee namely  queen bee, creative bee, unassuming bee, passionate bee, singing bee, peacemaker bee, praying bee, committed bee, enthusiastic bee and the like.

The neighbouring community, Auxilium Wadala came to wish us in a joyful note and offered us many gifts.

The Morning Prayer helped us to thank God for the gift we are to each other. The highlight of the Gratitude Day was the celebration of the Eucharist. Fr. Vivian D’Souza, the parish priest of the Church of Our Lady of Dolours celebrated the Mass and made it meaningful.

The support staff thanked the animator, Sr. Caroline Menezes for the love and concern to all. They too offered their token of appreciation.

The most exciting moment for the day was the animated recreation. All the community members had to dress up like bees and introduce themselves. One could hear peals of laughter as we shared and enjoyed each other’s company. The day was a special one for us and the memories of our Gratitude Day will linger on…
