AMAR # 757 Provincial on her visitation to MYC Wadala

“Now is the time to rekindle the fire,” said Mother Mazzarello. The community of MYC Wadala warmly welcomed our dear Provincial Sr. Rita Dora Thomas on 8th March 2019. Being in Wadala they had the welcome in the traditional East Indian way.  Sr. Moksha Antonappa led the community into prayer and invoked the Holy Spirit to be with the community during these days of her visitation.

In the refectory all the 14 Sisters, young and the elderly sang the welcome song ‘Our hearts go sha,la,la,la,la…’ with colourful ribbons and bright happy faces.

The Tech Mahindra staff and students welcomed Sr. Rita with their joyful noise.

In the afternoon the support staff thanked Sr. Rita for her presence at MYC and for her support.

Being Women’s Day, in the evening Sr. Moksha animated the Women’s Day celebration for the migrant women. Through a ppt, she told us the reality in which they live, work and sustain themselves.  The Provincial was present for the same and took an active part in the celebration. The tuition children put up dances and Sr. Magdaline Sequeira, the Vice-Provincial conducted a session on nutrition and cleanliness.  Supper was served all the women present.

Sr. Rita Dora personally met the remedial teaching children and interacted with them.

In the afternoon of the 9th March, Sr. participated in the Peace Rally which was organised by Sahayini. There were a good number of youngsters, Sisters, NGOs, students who marched the streets of Wadala to convey the message of peace and to pay tribute to the Pulwama martyrs.

On the evening of 10th March, the Sisters through the Adoration service thanked God for the gift of Sr. Rita Dora to our Province and to each Sister.  A creative recreation filled the community with joy and laughter and the Sisters thanked the Provincial for her animating presence in the community of MYC.
