On the 11th of March 2019, we celebrated women’s day at Aashish Bhavan, Kunegaon. The event started at 10.30 in the morning and the hall was full of nearly 105 young and old women.
The Chief Guest for the day was Sr. Moksha Antonappa, and Sr Aruna Castelino and the Guest of Honour was Sr. Joanita Antao. The day began with a prayer and lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, a welcome song by the children, and felicitation of the Guests.
The Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Fr. Peter Rodrigues, the parish priest of St Joseph’s Church Lonavala. During the homily Fr. Peter said “women are strong, God has created them very well but sometimes women themselves feel they are weak, so search within one’s own self-worth. You are very important to God and you are priceless, so learn new things in life, be open to Jesus who will guide you in all your troubles and that you are made in His likeness and image”
It was joyful to see the aspirants and they were accompanied by their assistant Sr. Sunita Moteghar. Sr. Moksha conducted games for all, conveyed a message and each received a gift and a prize.
The day was full of activities and indeed a happy one. In the end, all were served snacks and meals.
