AMAR # 766 Women’s Day at Bableshwar

On 2nd March 2019 Maria Bhavan, Bableshwar organized Women’s Day for the SHG women and for the women of the locality. The theme for the day was ‘Human Trafficking.’ The programme began at 11 a.m. with an entrance dance by the women accompanying the Guests to the stage. The Chief Guest for the day was Sr. Salome D’Souza from Nashik. She was accompanied by Sr. Reshma Nune and the Novices. The distinguished guests lit the lamp and Sr. Catherine Pereira introduced the guests. The Chief Guest spoke about the role of women in the family and society. The women of Bableshwar enacted the skit of human trafficking.

The resource person Mrs. Vaishali Naral Pegdyal spoke about Women’s Rights and how they can stand and be a source of inspiration to the family and to the society. She further explained to them about the income generating programme.

At 1.15 p.m. lunch was served for all the 500 women who were present for the occasion. After the lunch break, the Novices enacted on the importance of the girl child and her education. To add to the beauty of the day there was a cultural programme stage by the SHG women. All the women present were given a token of love and appreciation. The best time of the day was to see the women dancing to their hearts’ content.  They thanked the Sisters for organizing a special day for them.
