AMAR # 988 Gratitude Day at Aux-Lonavla!

The day began on a very festive note. Students were excited as they were all geared up to put up a programme for the sisters. Gratitude was the call of the day as everyone expressed how grateful they are for the presence of the other. On 30th September 2019, Auxilium Lonavla celebrated the Gratitude Day.

“A Grateful Heart Is a Magnet for Miracles” is what the backdrop said amidst the colourful floral stage decorations. Sr. Superior led the sisters of the community who were welcomed with a flower. Children waved smileys and hearts bearing the words ‘Thank You’. The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. A prayer service invoked God’s blessings on the sisters. Various scriptures were read and prayers of thanksgiving were sent up to God.  The tiny tots of K.G. section dressed as sunflowers sang a sweet welcome song for the Sisters.

The Sisters were presented gifts of love by staff members. Students of the primary section entertained everyone with a lively energetic dance performed with much love and zest. The students of Std. V to IX presented a song of thanksgiving while the pupils of Std. VII and VIII performed a puppet dance that was very energetic.

The students of the college section expressed their love for the sisters with a sizzling dance performance of Bollywood songs, while the students of Std. IX and X presented a dance with a medley of Hindi film songs.

Sr. Teresa Joseph, the animator addressed the audience whom she called her beloved teaches and beloved students. Sister expressed her deep gratitude to everyone for their efforts and love to teachers for their wisdom and hard work Sr. Teresa also expressed her gratitude to the students’ parents. She invited the students to study well. Sr. Sheela also addressed the school. She highlighted the importance of being grateful every day as it brings joy to everyone and gives praise to God. She praised the group of teachers who had put up the programme in a spirit of good teamwork Sr. Sheela thanked all the helpers of the school who work for the upkeep of the school. She also extended thanks to the parents of the students. She asked students to prepare words of gratitude for their parents at home. She thanked those teachers who always go out of their way to help out.

Tr. Rebecca then spoke to the school she shared her experiences with the students. She highlighted the values of being grateful and of saying sorry. She shared many incidents from her teaching years. She thanked all the sisters with whom she had worked over the years.  The head girls of primary and secondary sections proposed the vote of thanks.
