The Lonavla Education Department and the Block Education Officer Vadgaon Panchyat Samiti asked all schools to have a special programme to mark the significance of the day.
It was a non instructional working day where staff and students of the whole school were present from 8 in the morning to 12 noon.
The Greenline students along with the Girl Guides went for a rally to create awareness about cleanliness in our society. This rally commenced from Auxilium at 8.00 am and ended at the Lonavla Municipal Corporation by 9.30 am. Other schools too participated in the rally. All the dignitaries of L.M.C were present for the flag hoisting and an inspirational message was given by the President of Lonavla Mrs. Surekha Jadhav about the cleanliness of our town.
In the school a prayer service was held to pray for peace in our world. Speeches were delivered on Gandhiji and Lal Bahadur Shastri, whose birth anniversary is also commemorated on the same day.
The students and teachers conducted a cleanliness drive in the school building and in the campus and also around the school. The movie ‘Gandhi’ was screened after the cleaning activity was over. It was a enriching experience to all of us.
