On 6th September 2017, we the sisters from Maria Kripa, Madanthyar celebrated the Girl Child Day with our hostelites. We began the celebration at 6.30 p.m with a prayer service. This was followed by a skit competition on girl child.  Through this competition, the young girls presented beautiful messages as to how girls are treated at home, in society and in the world as a whole. One of the judges Ms. Shobha D’ Souza conveyed an inspiring message. She told them that they should be very courageous to save the girl child and say no to abortion. She also touched on many other aspects of being respecting the girl child. Ms. Avina Mardtha, the other judge for the competition, declared the results of the day. Sr. Angeline Fernandes and Sr. Santana Lopes offered a small token of appreciation to the judges. The day ended with a feeling of being happy that the girl child is the life givers, the essence of the society.
