Sulcorna, prays for peace!

Change takes place at every second. Change of heart, mind, traditions, rules etc. We see at every moment there a tremendous change taking place in the world and the family values are drowned, and selfishness, hatred corruption, religious fanaticism is at rise and at this cross roads of life we need to pray and pray earnestly for peace, to bring change in the value system of our country, nation and the world at large. We, the sisters along with our inmates of Mornese Vihar, Sulcorna, worked together to bring a change of mentality among ourselves by being in solidarity with the needs of the world and plunge into Universal Solidarity prayer for peace, a theory into practice by having an inter cultural prayer moment. On 30th August at 7:45 pm, we arranged ourselves in a circular formation with a lit candle at the centre. A peace hymn was sung and then scriptural verses were read from Holy Books of different religions. There was a short pause to prayer for peace followed by a ‘sankalp’ CD. At the end we stretched out our hands towards the candle and earnestly prayed for peace. From that day on, we continue to pray for peace. And we realize that this peace prayer is helping us to be at peace and serene in and around. The children too, enjoy this moment of prayer. We have this prayer every evening asking God for the gift of peace in our heart and in the world. May God’s peace be filled our land!
