Inauguration of the tailoring classes for the SHG women in Nagapur village
1st August 2017 was a memorable day for the women of the Nagapur village. It was the opening ceremony of the tailoring classes wherein 30 women enrolled their names. It is convenient for the middle class families since the classes are conducted in their respective areas. The Jane Shikshan Sanstha is helping to conduct these classes. By paying just Rs. 200/- per month, the women will receive Central Government Certificates and so many women are looking forward to this course. The Centre has provided machines with the hope that many women will become financially independent and improve their status in society.
Child Protection Programme conducted by the Salesian Cooperators
On 12th Aug.2017, Sr. Collette Gonsalves along with her team conducted the Child Protection training programme at Zilla Parishad Prathamik Shala, Renukanagar. The programme started at 10.00 am. The students were made aware of this programme through video clippings and group discussions.
NCP Tuition Class Programme
On 17th Aug 2017, the Laura Vicuna Niwas organized a programme for the NCP and tuition class students. After a short cultural programme, a speech was delivered on “Swatantryata, Samata and Bandhutva”. Mr. Shirsath, the officer spoke to the children about personality development. The Auxilium past pupils animated games and distributed snacks to all the children. Competitions like kho-kho, kabbadi and langdi were also organized for them. The programme ended with distribution of prizes.
A joint meet of the Cooperators
On 20th August 2017, the St. Ann’s Church Cooperators and the Cooperators of Laura Vicuna Niwas, Savedi had a joint meeting which was animated by Fr. Diego Nunes . He stressed on their roles and responsibilities and their witnessing presence in the home and in society.
