Our Marian month commenced with a solemn inaugural prayer moment. With lighted candles we walked in procession to the statue of our Lady promising to dedicate the month to her. Soft melodious celestial voices echoed as we sang hymns, in different languages, praising and honouring our Mother.The notice boards displayed various thoughts and beautiful images of Our Lady. Our theme for the month was ‘Mary, a model of virtues’. We chose four virtues of Our Lady viz.: humility, purity, obedience and generosity and practiced one each week. We decorated the statues of Our Lady every week group-wise. The rosary was prayed differently as was animated by the various groups.
To highlight Mary’s role as mediator, we enacted various miracles that Mary worked in the life of different people especially during the ‘goodnights’.
Your dream to visit Marian pilgrimage sites like Fatima, Guadalupe and Chennai would have come true if you would have dropped in at SJTC. The live tableau depicting the apparitions of Our Blessed Mother gave all a virtual experience of meeting Our Lady and listen to her message.Our love and devotion to Mary seemed to be at its peak as we came to the close of the Marian celebration. The much awaited Marian Nite finally arrived. SJTC resounded with screams of excitement, laughter, music and roars of cheers and applause at regular intervals. It was evening of games, puzzles, quizzes and a treasure hunt that required all to be alert and working at top speed. The entire Nite was planned and executed by our assistant Sr. Kavita Noronha and who was assisted by Sr. Cristine Ferreira.
Our devotion to Mary continues to grow greater with each celebration of the Marian Month and continues throughout the year. Our love for her and our determination to be more like her burns brighter every year.
