On the 30th January 2020, Mazzarello Kendra, Kasarkod was abuzz with excitement to celebrate the feast of our father and founder Don Bosco. The day began with a solemn prayer moment for peace in keeping with the world day of Peace, remembering the Father of our Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, who walked the way of non-violence all his life.
This was followed by the Kannada Primary students staging a short skit on the life of Young Johnny Bosco. The High School students then sang two melodious songs dedicated to Don Bosco.
On the 31st of January, 2020, the community celebrated the feast of our Father and Founder on a festive note, with religious and relatives near and far of our Sisters of the place. The day began with a meaningful prayer service. The Eucharistic celebration was celebrated by our Parish Priest, Fr. Michael Pinto, and the meaningful homily on Don Bosco was delivered by our own Salesian Priest, Fr. Milton Fernandes SDB. He was on fire with love for Don Bosco, and all eyes and ears were geared towards his young and zealous words, which inspired every heart in one way or another. This was followed by a festive fellowship meal, where all exchanged a greeting and a good word. With this everyone carried home a message or two, the main being, trying in our way to be Don Bosco in our respective lives, making of those we meet, Good Christians and Upright Citizens. Viva Don Bosco!
