Canonical Visitation at Pushpanjali Dakor

The long-awaited day dawn on 29th February as the Pushpanjali Family welcomed our General Visiting Councillor, Rev. Sr. Phyllis Neves here at Dakor. It was an honourable day for each one of us. We welcomed her in the Indian traditional style by performing the aarti and offering her a garland. The boarders gracefully led her onwards with the bit of the Timli dance. Joy surrounded the entire campus to have our dear Sr. Phyllis with us.

A beautiful welcome song was sung by the entire Pushpanjali family which she appreciated a lot. To inaugurate this visit we had a short prayer moment in the chapel animated by Sr. Hilda Braganza. Sr. Phyllis Neves lit an oil lamp to implore blessings from above. This oil lamp was kept burning for the entire visit entrusting ourselves and our dearest Sr. Phyllis into the hands of God

In the evening the representatives’ members of different sectors of Pushpanjali were gathered to welcome Sr. Phyllis. The centre of the hall had a display of the six jars with the quote, “Lord fill us with New Wine”.  Sr. Phyllis was very friendly in her approach. She joyfully spoke to them, appreciated and thanked them for the work they carry out among the young. Some of them also expressed gratitude to the Sisters for the support they receive in their work. Sr. Phyllis based her message on love. Each one happily received a memento from her hands.

The Community experienced grace moments as every Sister had the opportunity to have a Personal Encounter with her. Her friendliness, kindness and motherly concern really touch us the most.

The felicitation and thanksgiving moment programme on 1st March in honour of Sr. Phyllis was a feast to the eyes and she enjoyed and appreciated very much all the performances.  In her message, she stressed the importance of working together and seeing the positive in everything and everyone. She was delighted to see the happy face of the little ones, the young people, the women, and the staff, workers and the members of the different groups of Pushpanjali.

A small gift, a token of love was given by Sr. Phyllis to all those who were present.  Speaking to the Sisters in the Community she stressed on the Word of God, the importance of prayer and be positive in our thinking.

For Pushpanjali, Dakor, this Canonical Visit was a very fruitful and enriching experience.  All of us went out of our way helping each other in different ways so that this visit of our General Visiting Councillor may bear fruit in our lives and in our mission.

At the conclusion of her visit, we sang a blessing song for her. In the words of St. Peter, We said we have neither silver nor gold but we wish you, Jesus, more than anything. We also assured our prayerful support during the in the Province.
