AMAR # 1302 Constitution Day celebrated at Auxilium Baroda

“Democracy is not merely a form of government. It is essentially an attitude of respect and reverence towards fellow men.” -BR Ambedkar.

As we all know Dr. B R Ambedkar was a renowned social reformer, politician, and jurist and is also called the Father of the Indian Constitution. He was the one who drafted the Indian Constitution which we adopted on the 26th of November 1949.

To commemorate this significant event, we the Sisters and teachers at Auxilium Baroda had a short programme on the 26th of November 2020 by invoking God’s blessings on our country India, her leaders and her citizens.

Constitution Day of India aims to bring awareness to the importance of the Indian Constitution and pay tribute to its architect, Dr. B R Ambedkar. The declaration regarding the day was made by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 11, 2015, while laying the foundation stone of the Statue of Equality in Mumbai.

Thereafter every year, the 26th of November serves as a reminder that we are a part of the largest democracy and that we as citizens must do our best to uphold the values enshrined in our Constitution.

All present then recited the Preamble in English as well as in Gujarati with unction and patriotic fervor and concluded the programme with a song, wishing everyone to have a vision for a better tomorrow.
