On 5th June 2020 we celebrated the World Environment Day in our Community. The Morning Prayer highlighted the need to care and restore Mother Earth.
As a community, we decided to get in touch with the environment, by doing some terrace gardening. We replanted, trimmed and put our hands together to renew the existing plants, and thus feel the touch of Mother Earth. We also had trees in our compound that had been uprooted due to the cyclone, we felt the pain of seeing them in this state, we cleaned up the place and use the wood for better purposes.
The theme of this year’s World Environment Day is Ecosystem Restoration. Saving our environment is in our hands. We decided to give our valuable contribution by deciding to sparingly use the natural resources and firmly decided to be a plastic free community.
