On 2nd September 2021 was indeed a joyous occasion for the sisters, teachers and students of High school section, at Mazzarello Kendra, Kasarkod, as we had the celebration of the joyful surrender of Mary during this our Marian month and also World Coconut Day, a day celebrated by Asian and Pacific regions Coconut Community of the World.
Kasarkod is the place, full of coconut plants and it’s indeed apt to celebrate this day. On this special day, we had a meaningful prayer moment of reflecting back the joyful surrender of Mary in the plan of human redemption connecting to the different parts of a coconut.
We placed before Mary, a tender coconut, a dry coconut, fiber, kernel and coconut water. We went in procession with the statue of Mary, around the campus singing her glories and saluting her with three Hail Mary’s. At each stage of offering, a beautiful reflection was shared by the sisters, teachers and students and also prayed for different intentions, especially for those who, infected by Corona virus and affected by the present pandemic. Thus, together with Mary, we appreciated God for the gifts of coconut plants around us, which adds more beauty to the creation. At the end, the kernel was distributed to all and everyone enjoyed the delicacy of the coconut, thus ended our celebration.
