On 8th March, 2022, a day on which the world celebrates and values the role of women, Auxilium Lonavla echoed with an exultant wishing of “Happy Women’s Day”. The theme for this year’s Women’s Day is #Break the Bias, urging us to contribute to the building of a world that is diverse, equitable and inclusive, a world where difference is valued and celebrated.
This great day was made more special with our teachers, all decked up to look their best, taking the stage to animate a beautiful and meaningful prayer service, invoking God’s blessings on all women and seeking His blessings in order to become instruments of peace in the world, recognizing the unique role that women play in today’s society. Indeed, women are the life-bearers of society, for “Behind every success in life, there is a woman”.
Today, women are no longer role models only for other women, but role models for all. We are called to bring about the change of mindsets to form societies where all genders are equal and no one is greater or inferior to the other. All are unique and can contribute equally to bring about a world where peace and unity reigns supreme.
To make the day even more meaningful, the staff and students felicitated one of our long-standing workers, Mrs. Melina Patrao, for her hard work and sense of belonging to the Institute for the years gone by and even now. As all over the globe, celebrations of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women are witnessed, let us not forget the women who work behind the scenes with dedication to make our lives easier every day.
This International Women’s Day, let’s claim “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”.
