Auxilium Convent High School, Baroda organised an interactive workshop on ‘Mental health’ for the students from Std VII to XI from 8th March 2022 to 12th March 2022.  For almost 2 years the students were locked up in their homes due to Covid-19 and they needed proper guidance and advice in order to cope with new normal and the trauma they went through due to the lack of social interaction.

The resource person Ms. Celine Martins, a clinical psychologist from Mumbai, conducted the sessions on ‘Mental Health’. She focussed on pro-social behaviours, building self –esteem, foster connectedness.  The students were highly influenced and encouraged to promote positive behaviours such as respect, responsibility and kindness.  The students learnt how to stand up to a bully, reach out to lonely or excluded peers, celebrate acts of kindness and reinforce the availability of adult support.

For the teachers, Mrs. Celine Martins touched upon topics such as strategies involved in story-telling, conducting circle time with children to promote good mental health and getting acquainted with the idea of mindfulness. She also suggested a few tips to improve our communication.  Over all it was an interactive and an informative session and both the teachers and the students benefitted from the same.
