The campus of Laura Vicuna Niwas, Ahmednagar was bubbling with joy and holy cheer as this day was set apart to be spent with God. All the catechism students of the school, right from the lower kg upto class 9th were present for this significant event. The sisters warmly welcomed every child who was eager to spend some quality time with God. Sr. Antonette Rebello led them into prayer and welcomed them through a short animated video which conveyed how God longs to be with us all the time, even when we don’t have time for Him. The children were then divided into groups based on their classes. A biblical treasure hunt was animated for the older ones whereas a biblical charade was conducted for the little ones. They got to know the Bible and God’s Word a little better while also enjoying themselves to the full. Sr. Nilima Rodrigues animated a session on “Tasting God’s love”
Through which she made them realize how God personally loves each and every creature on earth. The smaller ones danced to their heart’s content on various action songs on Jesus. Sr. Rita Lobo, the Manager, in her message, exhorted them to always do the right thing at the right time and in the right place, in order to please God and become holy. She assured them of God’s presence with them at all times and the need to be thankful for this great blessing. The highlight of the event was a lively and prayerful praise and worship session which everyone, including the candidates, teachers and sisters joined and which helped them to get connected to our mighty, loving and merciful God. As the children dispersed, one could not help but notice the inexplicable joy on their faces after having met God and experienced His tremendous love and mercy for them.
