“NOT TOO LATE FOR CLIMATE”

On 14th July 2022 at 1.30pm, The Green Line Team members, Ms. Sandra Pereira and Ms. Ashwini Jadhav, Don Bosco, Matunga, conducted the first session of Ecology, for the Students of Auxilium Convent High School Wadala. This academic year for the entire Green Schools Campaign Theme for 2022-2023 is “NATURAL RE-SORT addresses two of these six problem areas, Sustainable Waste Management and Urban Greening and Biodiversity. The first session “Not too late for climate” emphasizes on understanding the problem and impacts of climate change and how climate action is undertaken.

The session was highlighted on the Regular Weather pattern and Climate, Industrialization, (Oil Sourcing, deforestation, mining etc.), fossil fuel, Green House Effect, how the human activities release the greenhouse gases and what impacts the green house make in us. Finally, they focussed on the Climate Action, and said this is one of 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations in 2015 who’s official mission statement is to “Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts”.

This session sheds light on the importance of Climate Action in today’s time. It also will help our campaigners understand the impact of Climate change on various aspects of our daily lives.

Our students were very attentive and responsive and gave their best by answering to all the queries asked. The two resource persons were very happy with the active participation of our children. The creative two months Activities (July and August )are given to the students. The session concluded sharp at 2.30 pm.
