Raksha Bandan: on the 4th of August 2022 we conducted Raakhi Preparation competition for the students of our tuition classes both in Akole and Randheja Villages, in the morning at 9 O’Clock and in the evening at 5 respectively. The children brought all the material needed and prepared beautiful Raakhis, one better than the other. Around 25 children took part.

Teachers’ Day in Akole Village: On the 7th of September 2022 when we, the teachers went to Akole village for tuition classes, a pleasant surprise was waiting for us. The children kept up the secret till the end. At the end of our classes the children blindfolded us and, when we opened our eyes we saw a beautiful stand decorated with colourful saree. On the stand was a beautiful cake. Children made us light the candles and cut the cake as they sang a song wishing us ‘Happy Teachears’ Day’. The cake was bought by the High School children from their pocket money, with the consent of their parents. Some of them wished the teachers with the greeting cards prepared by them. The teachers were taken up by the gesture of the little ones and they thanked them profusely.

Girl Child Day in Randheja Village: On the 7th of September 2022, in the evening at 5 p.m. we celebrated the ‘Girl Child Day’ for our tuition children of Randheja village in Gandhinagar District. Around 70 children were present. It was a beautiful sight to see all of them dressed in colourful clothes. The Chief Guest for the evening was Miss Elgina Parmar, a Staff Nurse, working in Civil Hospital, Gandhinagar. Sr. Vaneeta Khristi was the Master of the Ceremony, Sr. Maria Macwan introduced the Chief Guest and welcomed her. The Celebration consisted of dances, songs, skit, poems etc., all depicting the importance of Girl Child in the family. The Chief Guest in her speech spoke of the greatness of girl children as sister, mother, wife etc. She also exhorted the children to study well in order to be great women in the future. She thanked the Sisters for inviting her for the programme. She also thanked them for their service in the village as they help the children in their studies. We thanked her by offering a small gift as the token of our love. Sr. Cecilia Crasta give away prizes for all the winners of Raakhi and Drawing Competitions. At the end of the programme sweets were distributed to all the children gathered, each girl child who was regular for classes was given a water bottle as gift. We also distributed Sanitary pads to all the bigger girls. The Children were very happy and were grateful to the Sisters for this celebration

Girl Child Day in Akole Village: The Girl Child Day was celebrated in Akole village on 8th September 2022 at 9 a.m. We animated few games for smaller and bigger children separately. The children took part in it enthusiastically. Prizes were distributed to all the winners. The winners of Raakhi competition also were given prizes. Sweets were distributed to all children and each girl child was gifted with a water bottle.

Girl Child Day for Computer students: On the 8th of September 2022 at 3.00 p.m. we conducted a short programme for our Computer students in view of the Girl Child Day. We organized few games, the girls happily participated in it. Sr. Vaneeta Khristi spoke to them about the significance of the Day and the importance of a girl child in the family and in the society. At the end of the programme we gave prizes for winners in the games and distributed some sweets.
