AMAR #1717 #IT’S A TIME OF THE GREAT JUBILEE! #FOR IT ALL BEGAN WITH MARY! SILVER YEARS OF MARIA NIWAS KALATHUR

Halleluiah! The year of Jubilee is here! Jesus came to proclaim the Lord’s favor and so the communities of Shirva and Kalathur celebrated 4 milestones on 27th September 2022 at Maria Niwas, Kalathur. This year being a grace filled year, we proclaimed God’s goodness and love and Mary’s faithfulness to our Congregation by celebrating 150th year of foundation of our Institute, 100 years FMA presence in India, 40 years for Bombay Province and 25 years for the existence of Maria Niwas, Kalathur.

We were fortunate to have Bishop of Udupi diocese, Msg. Gerald I. Lobo who celebrated the Holy Eucharist along with 13 con celebrants both of Religious and Diocese. We were also privileged to have our dear Mother Provincial Sr. Meenakshi D’Silva, her council members and the parishners of Kalathur. The celebration began at 10:30 am with the Holy Eucharist, followed by cultural programme and the fellowship meal. The theme for the same was “For it all began with Mary”. We indeed felt her active presence over 150, 100, 40 and 25 years and she still continue to walk in our houses covering us with her mantle.

This day marked the day of celebration as we the FMA’s raised our hearts in thanksgiving for all the graces and blessings we received from Mary through our founders St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello. During the programme we thanked our Bishop, Priests, Sisters, Benefactors and Sponserers for accepting our invitation and taking active part in our celebration. Children from the Community of Shirva performed beautiful programme depicting the successful stories of our pioneers over the years.

Indeed, the celebration turned the surroundings into jubilation. We were glad to proclaim Christ’s loving kindness and Mary’s motherliness to all. It was indeed a time of great Jubilee, 2022.
