On February 23, 2024, GE Power India orchestrated a compelling seminar titled “Navigating the Pathways: A Voyage into Engineering” at Auxilium Convent High School, Baroda tailored for students ranging from grades 8 to 11. Mr. Santhel set the stage with an inaugural address, illuminating GE Power India’s mission and its pivotal contributions to the engineering landscape. Students were actively involved in interactive sessions and encouraged to vocalize their career aspirations.
The seminar reached a climax with the screening of a poignant excerpt from the movie Swades, depicting Shahrukh Khan’s character’s quest to electrify a village—a touching illustration of engineering’s societal impact. GE Power India’s personnel shared personal anecdotes, unveiling their journeys towards becoming engineers, thereby imparting real-world insights into the challenges and triumphs inherent in the engineering journey.
An engaging session featuring portraits of eminent engineers from diverse fields sparked spirited discussions, broadening students’ horizons regarding the myriad opportunities within the engineering spectrum. Diverse fields such as Mechatronics, Computer Science, Civil, Mechanical, Electronics and Communications, Electrical, Aerospace, and Chemical Engineering were explored, shedding light on their interconnectedness and relevance.
The seminar culminated in a comprehensive slideshow showcasing the multifaceted dimensions of engineering, providing a tantalizing glimpse into its expansive scope and potential. Students were allowed to pose queries, seeking elucidation on any facets elucidated during the seminar.
