AMAR # 364 Picnic for Sahayini Outreach Children to Byculla

 On Saturday, 10th February 2018 the Sahayini Social development Society along with college students of social work Nirmala Niketan organized an educational trip for 180 slum children of Wadala and other parts of Mumbai to Byculla Veermata Jijabai Bhonsle Udyan and the Zoo and to Dr. Bhau Daji Museum.

The children had a good time watching animals, and getting an idea of Indian history and culture. They were delighted to see the mass display of potted perennial flowering and foliage plants, shady plants, vegetables which was part of the 23rd horticulture exhibition at the Byculla Zoo. Viewing the Penguins was the special attraction in the zoo. The children were very much fascinated to learn about growing plants at home, on the terrace, in the balcony and at the farm.

After a sumptuous lunch which was sponsored by the Don Bosco Alumni members, the children took a glance at the Museum.  They were excited to see the exhibits.

All the children enthusiastically participated in the games which were organised for them.  The student social workers and the staff present were acknowledged with a token and by words of appreciation.

Sahayini Development Society provided delicious snacks to the children. This educational trip proved to be memorable trip for all members who were actively involved in making this event a successful one.
