‘And Mary was there’ was our theme for the Marian month which began on the 15th of July 2018 till the 15th of August 2018. We commenced our Marian month with prayer moment which was conducted by Sr. Salome D’Souza and Sr. Jaya Pedthala. To know more about Mother Mary we had different activities both in groups as well as individually. Some were Rosary animation in different languages, acting out the apparitions, quiz competitions, Marian albums on Marian shrines of the world, miracles of Mary and on her virtues. Each of us gave goodnights on Marian miracles and individual experiences of Mary.
Novice Master Fr Kenneth Pereira sdb., organized a quiz competition on Mary for fma novices and sdb novices at STI Novitiate. It was very enriching because we came to know so much of Mary. We also had a Marian nite with the Sdb novices and ADMA group of Don Bosco Parish. We had lots of games, activities, and questions on Mary which was interesting. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner which was followed by the distribution of gifts. We also participated in the Marian Academy in the Parish wherein we did Marian Medley on Coronation of Mary.
We ended our Marian Month with the traditional Marian nite in our own community conducted by our sisters. We were placed into three groups and competed with each other. The evening was packed with puzzles, quizzes, enactments, and a treasure hunt. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A special dinner was also prepared for us. It was a wonderful evening and a memorable one too.
Mary plays an important role in our lives and as her daughters an even greater one. Our love and devotion to our Blessed Mother have increased during this month and we pray that it may continue to grow with every passing day of our life.
