AMAR # 1574 Celebrating Don Bosco at Auxilium Lonavla

“I want to give you a formula for sanctity; first be happy; second, study and pray; and third, do good to everyone”, these words of Don Bosco rang through the celebration of the feast of our dear Father and Founder, on 31st January, 2022, at Auxilium Lonavla. To begin the day, a beautifully animated prayer service was conducted for the students online, beseeching the intercession of Don Bosco in our daily lives to attain his virtues, his love for God and his zeal for the salvation of souls. The short online program also included a clipping of the life of Don Bosco and the intervention of God and The Blessed Virgin in his life all through.

The children then had a class-wise activity in which they were asked to portray an image of Don Bosco provided to them in an appropriate manner with the help of different artistic methods, for example, STD V would use Thumb impressions, STD VI would use vegetable impressions, STD VII would use mosaic patterns with black pens, STD VIII used collage technique, STD IX used various pulses, leaves and other naturally available items and STD X did Pencil shading. The ten best entries of each class were then selected.

Don Bosco left no stone unturned to see that his youngsters became good and honest citizens learnt a trade in order to sustain themselves and contribute to the society. May we follow in his footsteps and zealously work towards leading those under our care on the path to sanctity, making each of them builders of a better tomorrow.
